their close friends or family). This service gives direct access to our
clinical leads in Medicine, Surgery, Dentistry, Critical Care and Child
Health.
As always, our team will work together across our respective
disciplines for complex cases needing our combined knowledge to deliver
the very best care.
Critical illness
Critical (or 'intensive') care is what we depend on when we are most
seriously ill or injured and require the greatest level of immediate
medical input or ongoing life-support. Critical care is delivered in
specialised private or national health hospitals led by clinicans
normally with a background in Medicine, Cardiology or Anaethetics.
Led by Professor Hugh Montgomery, Chair of Intensive Care Medicine
at UCL Hospitals, we offer both pre-operative assessment before major
surgery to determine risk, and an acute service whenever our clients
find themselves seriously ill or at risk of imminent need
for intensive care, at home or abroad.
